The Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is pleased to invite all interested parties in the fields of electromobility, smart mobility, ESG, and sustainable transport to register for participation in the International Conference titled “Electromobility: The Beginning or End of the Ice Age?”. The event will take place on November 6–7, 2025, at the Tarčin Forest Resort & Spa Sarajevo – MGallery Collection (https://tarcinforestresort.ba/ ).
This conference is organized by the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with support and co-financing from the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, the City of Sarajevo, UNDP, and the Embassy of Sweden as the partner country.
Over two days, the conference will feature lectures, panel discussions, and workshops, bringing together international experts, companies with proven experience, financial institutions, insurance companies, policymakers, and professionals in the sectors of sustainable transport – electrified passenger and freight programs, energy, and technology. The goal is to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and challenge misconceptions about electromobility.
The conference title, “Electromobility: The Beginning or End of the Ice Age?”, uses the metaphor of the “Ice Age” to symbolize the transition from the era of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to the era of electric vehicles. However, due to numerous geopolitical events worldwide and the current state of the automotive industry, there is ongoing debate about the complete shift to transport electrification. Therefore, this intriguing and provocative title aims to stimulate broader discussions on electromobility through three thematic blocks: Block 1: SUS vs BEV; Block 2: Security; Block 3: From enthusiasm to new business opportunities.
Block 1: ICE vs BEV
On the first day of the conference, this session will provide insights into the global and regional industry landscape and prospects, uncover the key to the success of the Scandinavian revolution, present user experiences from 777,777 electric kilometers traveled, and address questions regarding economy versus ecology, including procurement and maintenance costs, battery issues, Digital Passports, recycling, and disposal, as well as the life of a battery after its use in a vehicle.
The first day will conclude with the Swedish e-mobility fika, showcasing Swedish companies and experiences in freight program electrification, followed by an active Q&A session and opportunities for B2B meetings.
Block 2: Safety
The second day will begin with practical examples addressing misconceptions about the safety of electric vehicle driving, procedures in case of traffic accidents, types and repairs of batteries, and the essential role of ESG in vehicle fleets. These topics are particularly significant for insurance companies, leasing firms, and businesses aiming to maintain a sustainable fleet and promote sustainable road use. In line with sustainable road use, Block 2 will conclude with the premiere of an electric delivery vehicle tailored for the Bosnian market.
Block 3: From Enthusiasm to New Business Opportunities
This session will explore the business opportunities that electromobility presents, from the perspective of charging infrastructure, batteries as energy storage technology, to the potential of automotive component manufacturers. Block 3 will be complemented by the “Net Zero Mission Sarajevo” initiative, through which Sarajevo (City of Sarajevo, Sarajevo Canton, and East Sarajevo) participates in the EU Mission “100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030,” aiming to promote the development of smart and sustainable mobility as key activities in reducing transport-related pollution.
